چکیده
Queueing theory plays an important role in the design of telecommunication networks. Simple models, like fluid queues or classical single-server queues, can often be used to obtain insightful results, e.g., to predict the global traffic behavior. Traditional queueing models typically assume that the interarrival and service times have finite variance (e.g., exponential or Erlang distribution). As a result, the aggregate traffic that is offered by a collection of sources behaves like white noise. Recently, it has become clear that delay and buffer content distributions in modern communication networks often do not exhibit such a behavior like white noise. Many studies on traffic measurements from a variety of communication networks, have shown a striking difference between actual network traffic and assumptions in traditional theoretical traffic models. That is, actual network traffic is often it self-similar or it long-range dependent in nature. In other words, the traffic looks statistically the same over a wide range of time scales, from milliseconds to minutes and even hours. This conclusion is supported by statistical analysis of numerous high-quality Ethernet and Internet traffic measurements.

A Mathematical Analysis on Linkage of a Network of Queues with Two Machines in a Flow Shop including Transportation Time
This paper represents linkage network of queues consisting of biserial and parallel servers linked to a common server in series with a flowshop scheduling system consisting of two machines. The significant transportation time of the jobs from one machine to another is also considered. Further, the completion time of jobs/customers (waiting time + service time) in the queue network is the set...
متن کاملD-Spectrum and D-Energy of Complements of Iterated Line Graphs of Regular Graphs
The D-eigenvalues {µ1,…,µp} of a graph G are the eigenvalues of its distance matrix D and form its D-spectrum. The D-energy, ED(G) of G is given by ED (G) =∑i=1p |µi|. Two non cospectral graphs with respect to D are said to be D-equi energetic if they have the same D-energy. In this paper we show that if G is an r-regular graph on p vertices with 2r ≤ p - 1, then the complements of iterated lin...
متن کاملUnreliable bulk retrial queues with delayed repairs and modified vacation policy
The present investigation deals with the bulk arrival M/G/1 retrial queue with impatient customers and modified vacation policy. The incoming customers join the virtual pool of customers called orbit if they find the server being busy, on vacation or in broken down state otherwise the service of the customer at the head of the batch is started by the server. The service is provided in k</em...
متن کاملSOME GENERALIZATIONS OF WEAK CONVERGENCE RESULTS ON MULTIPLE CHANNEL QUEUES IN HEAVY TRAFFIC.
This paper extends certain results of Iglehart and Whitt on multiple channel queues to the case where the inter-arrival times and service times are not necessarily identically distributed. It is shown that the weak convergence results in this case are exactly the same as those obtained by Iglehart and Whitt
متن کاملSynthesis of Novel 7-Substituted-5-phenyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a] Pyrimidines with Anticonvulsant Activity
Considerable interest has been focused on the triazole structure, which has been known to possess a broad spectrum of biological activities such as antitumor, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiviral, and anticonvulsant activities. Before this, several heterocyclic compounds containing triazole were synthesized that had shown considerable anticonvulsant activity. As part of our continuous re...
